Measuring for Inside Recess
This is the measurement you need to take if you want your roman blind to fit inside the recess of your window.
Use a metal tape measure, cloth ones can stretch and give inaccurate measurements.
If you are measuring for bay windows and you are unsure where to measure from and to, I would recommend sending me a photo so I can see the configuration of the windows - whether it’s a square bay or angled - as specific amounts have to be deducted from the corners to make sure the tracks will fit. I can send you markings on where to measure.
Measure in 3 places for both the width and drop, take the smallest measurement and let me have these. I will do any relevant deductions.
If the track is being fixed onto the window frame take these measurements as per the diagram - if being fixed to the recess ceiling towards the front of the recess (to avoid window handles, etc) then take the measurements at the front of the recess where the track is being placed.
Width: Measure top, middle and bottom and take the smallest width measurement.
If there are any dado/picture rails or tiles on the inside wall, then you will need to measure from inside these as this will be the narrowest point.
Drop: Measure left, centre and right and take the smallest drop measurement.
If you would like to send me a photo of your window please do so, so I can check for you if you are unsure.
